BILINGUAL GUIDEBOOK FOR JAPANESE REFUGEES
The Cultural Orientation Resource Center (COR Center) provides incoming refugees guidebooks to help them settle in the United States. Their mission is "to increase awareness regarding the likely characteristics and needs of incoming refugee groups, as well as to facilitate culturally and linguistically."
This project involves a redesign of the guidebook, featuring 25 pages and a functioning app. The main goal of the guidebook is to design an easily navigated, useful and engaging compilation of information that makes it simple for the refugees to know what their next few months will entail.
The booklet was kept very sleek and simple, allowing the information to live on its own. It is accompanied with a minimal circle design that resembles the Japanese flag. The color palette is warm and calming as the refugees are most likely overwhelmed upon arrival.
